I hold a Master of Arts degree in Translation from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS) and am certified by the American Translators Association (ATA) for both Spanish and Portuguese into English translation.
I translate written materials solely into my mother tongue, English, so that I can work as efficiently as possible for my clients and draw on the full range of linguistic flexibility that English offers me. You will find my translations to be precise, idiomatic, and camera-ready.
My knowledge of the Spanish and Portuguese languages has been acquired over many years of academic study and practical application abroad, in Spain, Portugal, and throughout Latin America. These experiences have equipped me to translate and back translate documents from a multitude of Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries, with a sensitivity to the regional variants of both languages.
In addition to my membership in the ATA, I am also a member of the New York Circle of Translators (NYCT), the American Literary Translators Association (ALTA), and the International Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (IAPTI). I also serve as a grader of ATA certification exams and as the language chair for the Spanish-into-English language pair in the ATA Certification Program.
